Washington DC is the centre of the US politics, or as the Americans call it "where all the nothing happens".
Downtown
Washington DC can be divided into 4 areas: Downtown (where the White House is), North Central (for the trendy and Dupont Circle nightlife area), West (wealthy side), East (historical & eccentric side). The main attraction being the White House, where every American president takes office. To get inside the White House, non-Americans simply need to make a request to their embassy a few months before and they will pass it on. Interestingly at night the area around the White House is not particularly safe with a fairly high crime rate!
